JAGUAR

The largest cat in the Americas can reach 1.8 meters and weigh up to 158 kg. It feeds on mammals, reptiles and fish. The Jaguar is an excellent swimmer and catches fish easily. It lives in areas ranging from forests to semi-arid regions, preferably near water. Within the Jaguar species there are two types of fur coloration: yellow and black.





BUSH DOG

This animal was originally considered a fossil. It now lives in forests and savannas, close to water. The Bush Dog feeds on rodents, such as the Paca (Agouti paca).





PAMPAS DEER

The Pampas Deer is a herbivore with daytime habits. Its body-length ranges from 1.1 to 1.3 meters and height from 70 to 75 cm.





GOLDEN LION TAMARIN

The Lion Tamarin lives in the trees of primary and secondary tropical forests at heights ranging from 3 to 10 meters. The animal has daytime habits and prefers to live among epiphytes, where it finds insects and small vertebrates for food. The Lion Tamarin also feeds on fruit. The average body length is 20 to 33 cm and adults weigh between 360 and 710 g. This is one of the most threatened species in Brazil.





GIANT ARMADILLO

The Giant Armadillo is the largest armadillo in the world, reaching up to 1 meter, including head and body. The adult can weigh up to 60 kg. The armadillo digs holes with its claws to find worms, insects and larvae to eat. It also eats spiders, snakes and termites, breaking the termite hills apart with its strong claws.





MARSH DEER

The Marsh Deer is the largest South American deer with body-length between 1.8 and 1.9 meters and height of 1.1 to 1.2 meters. The animals weigh between 100 and 150 kg. This mule-size deer lives around water in marshy areas. It is a herbivore of daytime habits.
