Space the (Re)Union

Friday September 22 Santino and I drove 6 hours to Philadelphia to attend the Space Reunion Party. It was one of those events that have an air of destiny and sort of draw you to it, know what I mean? Anyway, about an hour after we get there I start dancing and this latino dude walks by me and tells me that I look familar. I told him that I used to live in Philly 10 years ago. He said... "Oh, well I must have knew you back then." I asked him if he used to go to a weekly called "Yoman!" and he said "Yes".

His name was Andre and after talking to him for a while, he started to look familiar to me, too. Turns out that our very first party was "Scott II", and that we went to MANY of the same parties over the years. Mercury, Heaven, Flight I and Flight II. It was awesome meeting and talking to him! I'm pretty sure I had talked to him before, or at least seen him alot back when I went to parties in the North East. Back then there were alot of people that you always saw around, whether or not you actually talked to them. Sometimes you would just look at people and smile and say 'hi'. On those occasions, it was pretty much a psychic phenomenon where everyone was just 'feeling', we had the music so we rfeally didn't need words.

There were alot of old school Philly people at the party and the vibe was almost like it used to be... but in a way it was better. It wasn't simply just a ReUnion party in the sense of just celebrating the past, it was a continuation of the past in the present. It gave me hope for the future and made me realize that I really am not old at all. Best of all, Santino got to experience a party in Philadelphia very close to the ones I have told him about since I have known him. Now he loves Philly, too. :)

Santino and I stayed up all night, we hung out at on the lawn behind the Art Museum while the sun was coming up by the Schulkyll River. Then we went to my old neighborhood in East Falls and walked around the park and talked to the people walking their dogs. That was really funny and interesting, and I really think the people that we talked to were really enjoying our conversations. Went to Manyunk and got some smoothies. Then we went to Fairmount Park and hung out climbed some rocks.

We finished off our saturday by renting a room at a Motel 6 in King of Prussia and then slept for 16 hours!

Hardcore partying... just like the old days. :) I loved it... can't wait to do it again.
