Space the (Re)Union

Friday September 22 Santino and I drove 6 hours to Philadelphia to attend the Space Reunion Party. It was one of those events that have an air of destiny and sort of draw you to it, know what I mean? Anyway, about an hour after we get there I start dancing and this latino dude walks by me and tells me that I look familar. I told him that I used to live in Philly 10 years ago. He said... "Oh, well I must have knew you back then." I asked him if he used to go to a weekly called "Yoman!" and he said "Yes".

His name was Andre and after talking to him for a while, he started to look familiar to me, too. Turns out that our very first party was "Scott II", and that we went to MANY of the same parties over the years. Mercury, Heaven, Flight I and Flight II. It was awesome meeting and talking to him! I'm pretty sure I had talked to him before, or at least seen him alot back when I went to parties in the North East. Back then there were alot of people that you always saw around, whether or not you actually talked to them. Sometimes you would just look at people and smile and say 'hi'. On those occasions, it was pretty much a psychic phenomenon where everyone was just 'feeling', we had the music so we rfeally didn't need words.

There were alot of old school Philly people at the party and the vibe was almost like it used to be... but in a way it was better. It wasn't simply just a ReUnion party in the sense of just celebrating the past, it was a continuation of the past in the present. It gave me hope for the future and made me realize that I really am not old at all. Best of all, Santino got to experience a party in Philadelphia very close to the ones I have told him about since I have known him. Now he loves Philly, too. :)

Santino and I stayed up all night, we hung out at on the lawn behind the Art Museum while the sun was coming up by the Schulkyll River. Then we went to my old neighborhood in East Falls and walked around the park and talked to the people walking their dogs. That was really funny and interesting, and I really think the people that we talked to were really enjoying our conversations. Went to Manyunk and got some smoothies. Then we went to Fairmount Park and hung out climbed some rocks.

We finished off our saturday by renting a room at a Motel 6 in King of Prussia and then slept for 16 hours!

Hardcore partying... just like the old days. :) I loved it... can't wait to do it again.

Woo hooooooo

Santino is finishing up the track so we can send it off to Terrassa tomorrow in the post so Ivan can do the finishing edits and final mastering. I'm pretty happy with the way my vocals came out. I'm not really singing in the track, I wrote a lyrical poem to go with the music. It repeats in two different parts of the track when the beat drops out.

The lyrics say:

Angular Velocities, Like Clockwork, Structure Time
Through Repeating Patterns We See Universal Signs
Laws of Musical Harmony Dictate More Than What We Hear
Our Very Existence Is The Music Of The Spheres

Underground Blogging

So I haven't made a post in quite a while. Sorry to whomever keeps checking back here (if there is anyone). I kind of doubt it as I discovered that my URL, selektastjarna.com expired and doesn't work anymore. I am going to buy it again and redirect it to this blog eventually..... but since I am so busy and haven't finished my full web site (of which this blog is going to be a part) I don't see much reason to put out the money right now. So, if there is anyone out there whom has this page bookmarked and is still getting to it.... I promise I will try to write more. But for now, this blog is going to stay underground.

I've had alot going on in the last month.

Here are the highlights:

  • I started working on an educational game project at James Madison University. Except for the occassional meeting I have to attend, I get to work entirely from home. (yay!)

  • Santino and I have been talking alot about when we are going to finally get married. It's probably going to be next spring and it may or may not involve a ceremony.

  • I've been slacking on landscaping the yard, but it's been hard because of the weather. It's either been raining or way too hot. I am hoping to get alot finished in the yard this fall.

  • The hummingbirds are starting to migrate and there are only a couple left in our yard :(

  • I finished recording the vocals for a track that is going to come out on Dona-Li Records some time at the end of this year. It's a track made by Dark Vektor and Morphogenetic and is going to be called "Music of the Spheres". I am very excited because this is my first release, and it is the first time I have ever been able to overcome my fear of singing in public. It's not really singing, though....... it's more of a melodious spoken prose but still, I am proud of it.

  • I have started a campaign to quit ALL caffeine from my diet. I am now only having one cup of chai tea in the morning, then in the evening I have a yerba mate latte. I have been suspicious that caffeine has been giving me panic attacks.

  • I found out that my couisin Leanne is pregnant with her first child. I am very happy for her because I know she has wanted children for a very long time. I am also inspired because she is 36. Personally I would love to wait until I am close to her age to have children. Sometimes I am concerned about waiting so late, if it would be for the best, but more and more it seems that I am being shown that I most likely will not have anything to worry about...

  • I ordered 13 new records and they are VERY dope.
